This weekend I attended the 2nd Annual Haiti Movie Awards in Boston with my boyfriend, director Jerry Lamothe. I must say that it was one of the best times I have had in a long time.

Jerry was honored and received the Honorary Award in Filmmaking, along with actor/philanthropist Jimmy Jean Louis and actor Benz Antoine. The event was very well ran and our hosts were the epitome of hospitable, professional and loving.

I have often said that Jerry and his family were very loving and accepting of me and my daughters. They consider us to be family, even though we’re yankee LOL. Seriously, being in love with someone who loves you back is a wonderful thing and because of my love for him, I am a huge supporter of the Haitian culture.

It was remarkable to see that even though I use the word “family” speaking in the immediate sense, the Haitian community/family has been very accepting of me. I received so much love and hugs at the Haiti Movie Awards. I will NEVER forget my experience.

Thank you Patrick and the MPAH for inviting me!

🙂
